2015 Wholesale Growth Predicted

The CBI’s Distributive Trade survey has shown that Wholesale sales volumes are up for 2015. So far, 64% of wholesalers have reported a sales volume rise in a year to January, compared to the reported 8% volume dip.

Retail sales also grew in the period, exceeding expectations. 39% of retailers claimed that sales volumes were up this year, compared with January 2014, with 42% expecting further growth over the next month. After Black Friday, retailers saw consistent footfall over the Christmas period and further growth in New Year sales.

With increased spending blamed on the falling oil prices and low inflation, consumers are expected to continue spending, ultimately translating into strong sales in the coming months.
