HB Clark adds to its fleet with eight new vehicles

Member of the Today’s Group and on trade drinks wholesaler, HB Clark, has begun a fleet modernisation programme with the introduction of eight rigid curtain-side vehicles.  Launched at St Helen’s rugby club on Monday 19 December 2017, each vehicle features the new H B Clark branding together with liveries reflecting a number of strategic partners such as Molson Coors, Carlsberg UK, A B Inbev and Whitley Neill Gin.

“We are excited to conclude a year of significant growth for the brand, with our premium Original Handcrafted Dry Gin and Rhubarb & Ginger Gin now featuring on one of HB Clark’s fleet, becoming the first spirits brand ever to adorn its vehicles and the only one of its kind in the new-look line up,” commented Leanne Ware, Senior Marketing Manager at Whitley Neill. “With the gin category continuing to welcome new consumers, as well as a burst of flavour innovation, the vibrant design encourages all who view it to ‘Discover More’ within the Whitley Neill range, which also includes a premium Quince Gin, and Blood Orange Vodka.”

H B Clark is also delighted to launch one of the vans with its own label soft drinks brand “Infamous” in the new fleet. Darren Williams, the Operations Manager, for HB Clark Ltd, said, “We are embarking on major investment to modernise the fleet.

We have a mixed fleet of about 90 vehicles from 7.2 to 32 tonnes.  The fleet is beginning to age in certain areas, so we want to introduce new vehicles that will enhance our performance, please our drivers and deliver a good fuel return.  Dray work isn’t about long distances.  It’s hard, local work, with lots of stopping, starting and difficult manoeuvring on High Streets and other urban areas. The current range of LFs will perform well for us, and we’re anticipating even better results on fuel when the two ‘New LFs’ join us next year.”

The bodies from Tekbo will include a new safety loading system that Darren has been working on with the Scottish bodybuilder. He says, “In a way, you could say we are returning to the old ‘roping and sheeting’ habits from years back. Basically, we are using a bungee system, hooked onto rollers at the front and back of the body, that meet to hold the loads firmly in place even as they diminish during the course of the dray’s round of deliveries. Simple, effective and easy for our drivers to operate, as well as providing great exposure for our brand partners”
